Pet Magical Ability: Mysticism

 

Mysticism provides a wide range of spells, including Single Target, AoE, and Utility.

Nether Bolt

Nether Bolt

Cost: 4 Mana
Description: Fires a bolt of nether energy at the Target, dealing chaos damage.
Notes:

Just as it sounds, the pet will shoot a nether bolt at the target, which deals minimal chaos damage.

Appearance: A Black/Green bolt.

Purge Magic

 

Cost: 32 Mana
Description: Players can only be purged once every 8 seconds

Attempts to remove a ‘buff’ from the target. Success is determined by the caster’s Mysticism and Focus or Imbuing versus the target’s Resisting Spells skill and the casting difficulty of the buff spell.

If there are no wards to Purge it places a curse on the target that increases their mana cost until the target damages something. When removed the target takes damage proportionate to how long the effect has been in place. The effect ends after 8 seconds and the damage type is Chaos (targets a random resist).

The target will be immune to purge effects for an additional 16 seconds if they are affected by the mana disruption.

Notes:

Purge Magic will attempt to remove a beneficial spell buff from the target. If the target has no beneficial spells to remove, they take minor damage instead.

Appearance: No noticeable graphic

Sleep

Sleep

Cost: 9 Mana
Description: Places the target into a ‘sleep’ state during which all movement and casting is slowed and hit and defense chance are lowered. Duration is determined by caster’s mysticism and focus/imbuing skill compared to target’s resist spells skill. The spell is broken if the target receives damage. The target will have a brief immunity to sleep if recently slept or paralyzed.
Notes:

Sleep seems to "Reset" the aggro list when it is cast on an enemy. This can mean that if your pet is tanking and it casts Sleep, the enemy may switch to another target.

Appearance: Sleep appears as a series of blue "Z" icons over the target.

Eagle Strike

Cost: 9 Mana
Description: Conjures a magical eagle that assaults the target with its talons, dealing energy damage.
Notes:

Eagle strike does minimal damage, but is pretty fun to watch your pet cast.

Appearance: Eagle Strike appears as an eagle that flies from your pet to the target.

Mass Sleep

Cost: 14 Mana
Description: Puts one or more Targets within a radius around the Target’s Location into a temporary Sleep state. Works exactly as ‘sleep’ spell, but on multiple targets including hidden players.
Notes:

Works the same way as sleep but on multiple targets, which also includes the aggro "reset" that sleep has.

Appearance: Mass Sleep will appear as a series of blue "Z" icons over each target affected by it.

Cleansing Winds
Cleansing Winds
Cost: 20 Mana
Description: Soothing winds attempt to neutralize poisons, lift curses, and heal a valid Target plus up to 3 nearby party members. The Caster’s Focus/imbuing and Mysticism skills determine the effectiveness of the Cleansing Winds, the effectiveness of the spell is reduced by the number of targets affected.

If a target is cured the healing they received will be reduced proportionately to the level of poison that was cured. If the cure fails, the target will not be healed. Pets can be directly targeted, but will not receive the spell benefits as part of the area effect. 

Notes:

Cleansing Winds will not affect the tamer or party members, as it would if cast by an actual Mystic. When cast by a pet, Cleansing Winds will only affect the pet.

Appearance: Green swirls will appear around the pet.

Bombard
Bombard
Cost: 20 Mana
Description: Hurls a magical boulder at the target, dealing physical damage. This spell also has a chance to knockback and stun a player target. The stun chance is determined by a comparison between the caster's Mysticism and either Focus or Imbuing (whichever is greater) skills and the target's Resisting Spells skill.
Notes:

Bombard has slightly delayed damage, due to the travel and impact time of the projectile.

Appearance: Bombard appears as a giant boulder flung from the pet to the target.

Hail Storm

Cost: 50 Mana
Description: Summons a storm of hailstones that strikes all targets within a radius around the target's location, dealing cold damage.
Notes:

Hail Storm does moderate AoE damage to all enemies within 3 tiles of the target.

Appearance: Hail Storm appears as a group of light blue sparkles.

Nether Cyclone

Cost: 50 Mana
Description: Summons a gale of lethal winds that strikes all Targets within a (3 tile) radius around the Target’s Location, dealing Chaos damage. In addition to inflicting damage, each Target of the Nether Cyclone temporarily loses a percentage of mana and stamina. The effectiveness of the Nether Cyclone is determined by a comparison between the Caster’s Focus/imbuing and Mysticism skills and the Resisting Spells skill of the Target.  Does not damage hidden characters.
Notes:

Nether Cyclone does moderate AoE damage to all enemies within a 3 tiles radius of the target  and reduces the target's mana and stamina.

Appearance: Nether Cyclone appears as a series of white orbs over the affected area.
